sol melts gold
on river's altar
molten movement
gleaming bold
.
glorious are these
wealthy moments
breathe in deep
then out it goes
.
yet the clouds are
all for spoiling
pensive moods of
sweeping greys
.
fleeting sun
a brief appearance
lost in shyness
hides away
.
roller coasters
have their spills
down the slopes
then up all hills
.
this is the life
i've come to know
we ride the highs
we bide the lows
.

i love this Christine .. its so delightful .. calm acceptance ... a certain peace that comes with true "maturity" ... especially appreciate the gold on the waters and that it is "wealth" ... such a moment is a treasure ... i feel the sadness in the turn .. its like .. noooooooo please sun ... come back ;) but your closing tells me all is right with the world .. it does go up and down .. has sunshine and grey .. and its all OK! really got into this .. again .. that gold on water .. the wealth of it .. I'm taking that with me today ma'am! ;)

Oh yes Mr E, the gold and diamonds on the river are quite beyond compare. A true gift they are. Life is all peaks and troughs. We have to learn that we can't be greedy and remain in the peaks all the time. We all have spells in the doldrums. Love your visits to my page Mr E. ohhhhhhh thanks for keeping me in mind for the clover! ... i wrote that one can't hold hummingbirds and found out that Cherrie Palmer actually did .. she found it stuck in a trellis and helped it out ... pretty cool .. as is your propensity to find those 4 leafers ... peace and joy ... as the river runs through it. ;) are you fishing?

Yes, fishing with a magnet to catch old relics in the water. Not of the human variety I might add. Coins, nails, screws, horseshoes. That keeps me happy :) Will have to look again at hummingbird poems. Walked through whole meadow of purple clover this am. Ain't found a four leafer yet :)

wow...what a fine hobby .. fishing for river treasures ... i have often, and still, think about getting a metal detector ... you have revived the ambition ... at least in me noodle :} what is your best find on the water's floor?

I always wanted a metal detector too. Fancied finding a stash of Roman treasures. On the river I have netted rusty old nails, a few coins and a fine horseshoe. Still searching for the valuable stuff :)

We do indeed Chris. And it's a ride with only one way off and no one is in a rush to get to the final destination. So enjoy those little glimpses of sol and hope next time his visit is longer and we can all make a day of it.
