Definitely it flows like a song dear Chirs. a fairy? this is the first thing that comes to my mind, though she can be a muse, an ancient loving soul. Could it be even a truth or a revelation. Who cares when the result is sweet and gently loving as this :> there is a tender allure through your lines as we read.
"there's something about you
your spirit your face
that lends to her calling
though she leaves with no trace"
love these lines 💗

This flows so softly down the page
with a sweet rhythm and rhyme verse
I like the line " so the spirits can guide you"
I do believe those spirits visit us and do
guide us. a lovely poem well penned

Thank you for your visit Fran Marie. Pleased you enjoyed this poem.
Is this a visit from a spirit past? Not sure of whom I am seeing, but she must be special not to be feared. The rhyme is spot on and flowed nicely; well done.

Once in a while my muse throws me a bone with the writing but it is on the back burner for the most part. Sun and fun is on the agenda. :) Have a wonderful summer yourself! HUGS!

I can definitely see some of my folk-singing cousins eagerly taking to these lyrics. Very nicely written! But it also speaks to an experience we had many years ago when we moved into a new (for us) home and I encountered a spirit at night on several occasions. My wife wondered if it was the long-passed husband of the recently-deceased woman whose house it had been, and suggested I tell him, the next time he appeared, that she was no longer there, and had moved on. The next time I awoke, startled, to see his shadow in the doorway of our bedroom, I told him what my wife had suggested, and never saw him again.

I have long been a folk music fan, Chris. I used to go to a local pub where a "Folk Night" was held once a week. Some really good acts were booked. I remember a folk group playing there several times, called "Hedgehog Pie." They were really good. This poem of yours certainly flows like an old folk song, and the subject matter is quite folk inspired too, I would say. All this needs to turn it into a song is a good melody. No chorus or bridge needed. Most of the old folk songs (many of them going back hundreds of years) have neither chorus nor bridge. The old narrative folk songs - "Geordie," "Henry Martin," "House Carpenter" etc are still sung on the folk circuit today. Testament to a grand tradition. Your poem is excellent as it stands!
