You painted such a wonderful picture here Chris that I could almost hear it going "whee whee whee" all the way home.
Or is that little piggies? 😀
Now, where's part two, where you follow it like the kid we have to pretend we are not, lest people talk.
And thank you for the opportunity of using lest in a sentence 😀

I love this . . . a perfect tidbit of imagery to express a whole huge feeling. One of my favorite movies is "American Beauty" (Annette Bening) & the opening scene shows a plastic bag dancing in the wind . . . only this piece of garbage among leaves, but it's an exquisite mesmerizing bit of filming & your poem reminds me of how I feel like I could move every which way when I watch it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It's a beautiful little haiku that paints a very vivid picture. Freedom sure is wonderful, but this realization only comes once it is lost.

I have three long poems on a falling leaf so I liked this haiku on it that you described so creatively in fabulous poetic figuratives. Kudos!
And take care, keep writing!

Freedom is indeed joyful. I love to watch young colts kick up heir heels and run wild around the pasture or a puppy chasing his tail just because it's fun. The joy of freedom is found in so many natural things but seems to be lately and sadly absent in America, the "Land of the FREE"
