Only under the cover of night is this type of escape possible. The possibility of everything grows in the dark, good or bad, the escape requires the cover before the light of day shrinks it to man size bits made out or our agreed upon realities. Great writing Chris!

Just can't sleep at night and end up cat napping by day. Sounds like we have something in common. Thank you for leaving such a nice review. Have a lovely day.
Amazing story-telling in the poetry dear Chris.
"rising in flight
from a bare branch
bewitched by moonshine
in a forest of
silvered slow motion"
The words gentle, meaningful and wonderful. The nightingale song I do miss. When I heard I wanted to escape too. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Now, wouldn't that be an experience? Your fine words paint a thrilling scene of night and flight in the person of a white owl. Cool.

This is excellent Chris and full of haunting and resonant images. Quite flattering as well that we both have a Piece titled 'Escape', arrived at independently and from very different angles. Definitely a 'keeper' this one.

Written under first lockdown conditions in the middle of the night. I just wanted to get outside abd breathe. The night owl did it for me. Pleased that the title is one you have used too. Good morning.
this is a very beautiful poem with stunning images, Chris. My favorite is the line "of an ink black sky pitted in sequins." It's pure magic and perfectly worded. Like a living painting. Thank you for sharing your lovely poem.

Quite an anxious time for many. The flight of the night owl, seen in slow motion was both spiritual and a means of escape. I am so pleased you enjoyed the read and thankful for your kind visit to my page.
I love owl. They are amazing to watch fly. So graceful
