maybe it's just as well we don't know when that moment will arrive .. at least most of us don't .. here though, you have not only reminded us of our own mortality, indeed of all things both animate and inanimate, but you have most importantly captured the very essence of life's fragility .. the fleeting and transitory nature of it ............ having got that off my chest, I must also say it's an honour to be #75 on your impressive list of reviewers .. an amazing achievement and most worthy .. Neville

Fleeting, fragile life... You described it in such a beautiful way. I always find this kind of poetry more attractive!. Like a leaf we are dwindling in the life's journey, and don't know really when a blow of wind can take us away with it... It's so sad, poignant yet true to life writing...

Dear Sima, thank you for leaving me the kindest if reviews. Sending love.
The first line really grabbed me here, it's not optimism despite of grief, it reads of the pain of seeing beauty when you feel sorrow. The fleetingness of existence has been a popular theme in my own work and I can see it mirrored here. This poem speaks to me.

and indeed the painful throb of the heart speaks volume and this poem is lovingly written by someone who can clearly understand the pain a love is going through

Sette, thank you for your lovely review. All good wishes from across the pond.
Words and actions, be they big or small, alter our paths.
Articulated so poetically here. Feels of a sad undertone.
But the sun always shines regardless, even when it's raining inside.
Beautiful poem, Chris

Thank you Ana. I appreciate you giving this one an airing. All good wishes.
this was a great poem, Chris, the style gives it a minimalist approach but the sparse language give it depth and meaning, those of us hanging on by our leaf tails to the tree of life, not sure if that makes sense but did enjoy,

no worries, Chris, hope you are keeping well (isolated) and safe,
" The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."
Jack London
I share that sentiment with Jack. But the intrepid are not, by nature, reckless or careless. But adventure must be tempered with reason. Like the old gunnery sergeant said, "There are old soldiers and there are bold soldiers. But there are no old, bold soldiers.

Many thanks Fabian. Your thoughts much appreciated.
This poem makes me feel less burdened, and we all need that right now. I love the nature metaphors. The Sun keeps shining, even when it is cloudy, in the same way, there is always something to be thankful for even in the darkest moments.
Thank you for this poem ♡

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
