maybe it's just as well we don't know when that moment will arrive .. at least most of us don't .. here though, you have not only reminded us of our own mortality, indeed of all things both animate and inanimate, but you have most importantly captured the very essence of life's fragility .. the fleeting and transitory nature of it ............ having got that off my chest, I must also say it's an honour to be #75 on your impressive list of reviewers .. an amazing achievement and most worthy .. Neville

This provides a lovely visual of the balance between the heavy-handed and delicate nuances of our lives are.... each are equally beneficial and devastating/transformative/inspirational/yada/and yada...each exchange builds on the other it's exhausting and can exhume us at our most low depending on where our head is at.

This was beautifully written. Indeed, we dont know when our end will come, or if it is near right now and any action can indeed change our lives forever. I guess thats why we must live everyday to the fullest, because in a minute, our life can change, for better or worse.

An excellent portrayal of just how uncertain the flow of life truly is and of its fleeting nature. A man once compared his stage of life to playing the game of golf. "I'm on the 18th hole, he said. Another one of those who wished he had quit swinging that sledge a lot sooner and not having so much of his life slide by.

We start to realise that time is speeding by and people of our own age or even younger have departed. The guy who had been playing golf, got it right. That 18th hole has a habit of catching up with us. Many thanks for stopping by to read this older poem, out for an airing.
How fragile life can be, indeed. We all have the power to change the "river's flow." Some butterflies, some a mighty hammer...each life makes an impact. Such a powerful little piece here Chris!

Absolutely beautiful poem dear Chris-and so is your new gorgeous photo! Your graceful, evocative language, flow, similes, and imagery of nature are delicate, compelling and powerful in scope. Fragility and force juxtaposed..just as they are in life. We survive and learn from watershed moments as they confront us. And we pray for the strength to navigate through the waters. Excellent write!

The above lines. Wonderful and true. I like to say. We must be like the Willow tree. Flow and accept the touch of the wind. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
