A Gong For A WrongA Poem by Chris ShawA little rant from a tree lover.
Congratulations to our local council,
who have exceeded themselves by far. I award a shiny gold star for your level of sheer incompetence. You have to be pretty dense I think to destroy eight hundred saplings without a thought, planted by volunteers of a woodland trust. Try as I must, I can't contemplate how anyone could chop down a flucking forest, each little tree of five years standing. In one almighty swoop, managing to wipe out the equivalent of four thousand years of tree growth while doing routine clearance. That has to be one of the best acts of vandalism I have come across, knocks spots of grafitti on the odd wall or two which can be erased. A case of they couldn't see the trees for the nettles they were attempting to weed, so much for routine parks maintenance. © 2019 Chris ShawFeatured Review
