Prosperity

Prosperity

A Poem by Chris Shaw

Many a leaf floats softly down,
a blaze of gold upon the ground
comes treasure from a grieving tree.

And like our loved ones when they're gone,
in precious thought they still live on
and that means all the world to me.

this reminds me of Vermont as well....that pic of my mom...the beauty of fall, her beauty...and then the impending winter to come...so cold and lonely without her....i enjoyed the prosperity of having my folks for so long....having those summers and falls in Vermont...i was quite lucky.

your poems are always so insightful, for object & people alike !

finally after a 5 year 9 month tribunal battle for our fence-line trees we had to chop 3 out of 5 down because of our lazy & lying neighbour who found it tedious cleaning her pool. i
am so mad, i'm hoping that retribution karma will hit her like a ton of bricks, with some misfortune.

Life truly is a matter of perspective. We can enjoy the gold fall brings or dread the coming gray. It's certainly true we can find color in the darkest times and places. In that perspective, we find prosperity in full measure. Six brief lines that speak wisdom, Chris.

such a heartwarming poem.
Even if someone is gone or is there with you ,you can always have them in your mind no matter what.

A most lovely, Darwinian piece that talks of nature and the furtherance of DNA Chris!
