morning glory

morning glory

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

river musings

"
from swan island
on the deck of caryl anna
reflections
kiss surface water

gifting

a double dose of
willow green
weeping

tumbling from a height
whispers of movement
teasing

gifting

a double dose of
feathers
slow sailing

little boats afloat
white wisps on summer blue
sky travelling

rinsing

with warm glow
peeping tom gold
love wrapped sun

behold my glory
morning happiness
my story

A beautiful poem, Chris. I love the way you've taken a scene and translated it for us. Your powers of observation make it all feel quite magical. Like the experience of seeing something for the first time. A thing we always hold in the catalog of our memory.

I'm becoming very curious about this river you've been visiting...your poems make it feel radiant and peaceful. On another note, I especially like the style you've used here. The formatting with all little letters and the wandering of free verse. It suits the scene and musings well.

This is somewhere I'd love to be this morning. Lovely.

This is such a delightful read taking (me) back to those cottage weekends on the lake... Your river invites the senses, your writing makes it compulsory.. beautiful!

A beautiful verbal sketch...capturing the charm and attraction of the scene while also bathing it with warm love, like the sun's blessing.

A very whimsical and calm piece of descriptive free verse as you paint a portrait of cruising along the river on a summer's day. Very nice and relaxing.
