morning glory

morning glory

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

river musings

"
from swan island
on the deck of caryl anna
reflections
kiss surface water

gifting

a double dose of
willow green
weeping

tumbling from a height
whispers of movement
teasing

gifting

a double dose of
feathers
slow sailing

little boats afloat
white wisps on summer blue
sky travelling

rinsing

with warm glow
peeping tom gold
love wrapped sun

behold my glory
morning happiness
my story

A beautiful poem, Chris. I love the way you've taken a scene and translated it for us. Your powers of observation make it all feel quite magical. Like the experience of seeing something for the first time. A thing we always hold in the catalog of our memory.

I'm becoming very curious about this river you've been visiting...your poems make it feel radiant and peaceful. On another note, I especially like the style you've used here. The formatting with all little letters and the wandering of free verse. It suits the scene and musings well.

This is somewhere I'd love to be this morning. Lovely.

I so much love the pictures you paint with your writing. I easily picture in my mind the quiet calm and serenity of the scenes of which you write so beautifully.

Take care - Dave

This is beautiful, written in rhythm of the slow moving river. I know rivers like these, one used to live in my back yard.

Nothing better than a good dose of happiness in the morning. Regardless of what happens after that, it is likely to be easier to handle. Done in your master painters style, this is a wonderful read this morning.

There is a real connection between art and water. Oceans, rivers, lakes not to mention all the types of perception. It just asks us to create.
I love the trip you just lead me on.

Very descriptive and lovely poem. Sort of reminds me of Han River when I would camp there for a day with friends.

You're welcome
What a beautiful story lines,
That keeps the mind wishing for more.
Fairy or reality, imagination or visible.
All I feel is like being at the scene,
At least for just a few seconds.

This piece is wonderful, Chris.

' behold my glory - morning happiness - my story ... '

What a beautifully calm flow of writing, Chris - so very appropriate for its theme. Your words and their layout do amazingly visual honour to the great river Thames. Sighhhing. :)
