RevengeA Poem by Chris Shaw(from the archives)
Hail Zeus the God of all the sky
who raped his way to find a wife. A loveless marriage borne of strife for Hera wed him out of shame. Take all the blame as rain descends, does she offend you, make you shout? Let's have a flood I hear you say and end this bloody talk of drought. Frayed feelings scream, the plug's been pulled. A deluge falls that will not drain, the river plain's a lovely lake. But oh the pain and damage done as homes are ruined, people weep and sandbags can't prevent the rise of water as it seeps inside.
