Lend Me Your EarsA Poem by Chris ShawFrom the archives and a visit to the weir.
Before your eyes are mesmerised
by water gushing through this weir, do you hear the pounding sound of marbled crystal as it tumbles, as it stumbles over concrete, crashing to the depths below? Take a respite, take a moment, listen to the noise of thunder and the mighty roar of anguish as the wayward, whirling foam boats, pirouette in swirling waters, whisked meringues of many egg-whites, whipped into a frothing frenzy, humbled by the river's flow.
