I had images of beauty in an ocean of ugliness as the contrast came to mind with the sharks and the lovely blue bells but then again poisonous jellyfish like the Portuguese man of war jellyfish has that blue bell shape and colour too. Maybe beauty is dangerous after all.

Beauty and danger, themes that often exist together in nature. Lovely haiku, dear Chris, that carries a lethal warning. I’ve learned the truth of this here!

The title took me toward Robert Frost. The poem veered toward Chris. Bluebells beside the ocean would be a lovely view...as for the other, must be the infamous SNL land shark from way back when.

A couple of clumps that look so pretty near our pond. They always remind me of when I was a child and I wanted to pick them. My mum told me that within minutes of picking them the stems go limp and they are not to be picked under any circumstances :) Funny how you remember little things like that.

These were natural bluebells, the ones you buy now like snowdrops i do believe are are modern forced variety ...
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
