When Leadership Is Called For

(my sense of humour, sorry)

On tv, an intense debate takes place

concerning the state of the nation

as Brexit bamboozles and blinds

with its complexity.

Well, for some, not for me.

Yet an equal amount of gloom

pervades within the confines

of our living room,

between three others, parked on

our comfy settee

arguing about another critical matter

to contemplate.

This time it's the fate

of the last square of chocolate.

This calls for leadership says I,

so in the blink of an eye

I step up to the plate

and solve the problem.

Yummy it was too

and gobsmacked were they.

Dismayed expressions, not a sound

until I put them out of their misery

and found in my handbag a reserve

supply of the stuff they all crave.

Saved the day, all smiles.

And I am left in awe of the

power, I wield.

Chris, you have discovered that there is no problem too big that cannot be solved with chocolate. Unfortunately our various and sundry leaders are too busy trying to make themselves look good...to get re-elected after all...to pay attention to the huddled masses that do the voting. If my math is correct...and I have no reason to doubt it, then you assumed leadership with only 25% of the vote. Well done...now, take over from Theresa May.

I have to agree with you Ted. Politicians are putting their own agenda first and Mrs May is not the best negotiator. You don't part with your trump card (not talking Donald here) at the beginning of negotiations. She is trying to please too many people and by doing that upsets everyone. What a mess. Now from the comfort of my own home, and dealing with trivia, leadership is easy peasey, especially where chocolate is concerned. Thanks for your visit. Hope all is well.

To be fair, I still don't fully understand the whole Brexit thing. John Oliver significantly helps but, I'm just not that intimately involved enough to truly grasp it. (90% of all Americans who claim to are lying)

According to all governmental health agency reports, chocolate is the source of all evil and should be immediately removed from all distribution outlets.
Even with the extreme health risks from overexposure to chocolate radiation, I will volunteer my services to complete the undertaking of this dangerous and onerous task.
As far as Brexit is concerned, I will look into it once I feel my chocolate responsibilities have been completed.

What? No referendum to debate the value and importance of why we are in this draconian state of a deficit in the required cocoa consumption of the average working family?
