Inbetween Mars and Venus

Inbetween Mars and Venus

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

This is Saturday humour, with apologies to anyone I've offended about their politics or manhood:) Also thanks to Lorry and Dave

"
What is it about men?
What is it about women?
So many times it's been said,
it's a constant surprise to me
that relationships ever survive,
as many of them are doomed to die.

Yet I'm a firm believer in
Men are from Mars, women from Venus.
And there's that other place,
the one that comes between us.
Yes that's it, the Planet Penis.
If anything's going to c**k things up,
it's that nonentity.

When I mentioned this to Lorry
in a running commentary he said to me
"Trump would make a great president there,
and without doubt is the biggest dick of the lot".
I agree wholeheartedly,
he has befitting hair for the job
and qualifies with his wandering knob.

In case you think this is a plot against men,
think again, I love you all,
which covers you big 'uns, the deflated, the shy,
the persistent and the small.
You'll all remain dear to me
so long as you don't interfere with me :)

I told you, it was really cold that day :)
And what is it exactly that you're thanking me and zDave for? We promised not to mention that outside of fight club :)
It is good to see that weekend silliness is making a comeback though. Thats what they are for...Weekends I mean, not...never mind :)

Chris,
Too bad you didn't get to vote for Trump! I must say, this carries you away from familiar territory. I must admit it is clever. Perhaps this an attempt to do your own "A Room of One's Own" by Virginia Wolfe. By the way, just read an interesting bio on her . . . short but grabbed the essentials. Sorry for rambling . . . just a bit dazed by your poem! I did like it, but I've never been on Mars!

Men are meant to hunt and peck... women are meant to find and gather... in a garden where love is provided ... Shelter is under the flowering trees and berries are sweet and birds tweet. From beginning of time we seem to survive and reproduce all that is divine. truly, Pat

I'm speechless. Laughing, but struck stupid speechless. Okay, okay, I'll ask this one question--planet penis--could it have two nearby moons?

That means a lot to me Ana :))) I have achieved. Thank you.
And there was me thinking 'bout declarations of intent and you destroy Sunday's all day breakfast! Can only imagine you've a menu at hand, plus two for the price of one? Laughing, having read twice, wondering what on earth you'll come up with next!

Hope this silliness gave you a smile. Thanks for checking in.

Be fair Christine, if men were any different they might start to make us look a bit less superior, (don't ever mention that though,) or they might just start to behave and that would be a real shame, because I like them exactly as they are. :))

Oh my, Chris, this made me laugh. The inevitable monster in the pants strikes again. Causing madness and mayhem for couples. LOL and sadly so true. As they say, men think with their penises. And poor Trump. I had to giggle. This is a cracker poem. Made me smile.

Picking on poor old Humpty Dumpty Trump! Of course he's well endowed, just ask him. Of course you must take into account that he lies, like a rug. Don't see or hear too much, lately, about his wife. Has she had enough of his willingness to share his "endowment". I suppose it's a good thing to have that much wealth. Who or what, otherwise, would be interested?

Take care - Dave
