Oblivious

Oblivious

A Poem by Chris Shaw

If you slow down sufficiently
you may see droplets of rainfall
on leaves of red orach
as you pass by.
If you slow down sufficiently
you might listen to the shrill whistles
of Red Kites as they soar overhead
in a blue forget me not sky.
If you slow down sufficiently
you could brush my lips
with the whisper of your breath.
Why don't you try?
If you stop in your tracks
search my green eyes like a map
you should catch a glimpse of my soul
buried in the breeze of a sigh.

Oh, perfection in stopping, listening and hearing. The beauty of nature and all around you. In gods countryside. Such amazing zen-like state of presents you gave me Chris.

I do agree Chris.
It's absolutely beautiful. The description of nature is wonderful. People are really very busy nowadays and really need to take out time for mother Earth and their loved ones. Great work dear friend . B-)

If you slow down sufficiently, this says a lot about today's world. A very fine observation, nicely conceived.

Always a pleasure, Chris.
Birds of prey and love. Yea, I guess there is always an element of risk and excitement in love. But that's why we love it. Right?

Everything moves so quickly, we should learn from nature it doesn’t rush and yet everything gets accomplished.
Excellent read, thank you.

Many thanks MCS, we can learn a great deal from nature, sadly too many people don't know that.

"buried in the breeze of a sigh."
That's a lovely expression. It's funny how one doesn't need to look that far to see into another's soul, yet we keep searching. Lovely imagery too in the first two stanzas. Always nice to read you, Christine. :)

is that where you keep your soul too? What a kowinkidink, me too. Well, not keep it there exactly, more where I catch it trying to get out, and we dont want that. I've only just got it back after years of working as a civil servant. Well, I sau work, but mean atrophy slowly over many years. Well, I say atrophy, but well, at least I didnt kill anyone, that they know about :)
Sorry, dont know where that came from. Obviously too mich liquorice too close to bedtime. What was I saying? Ah yes, souls! Must get my boots mended.
You know, I think this morning is the morning I go from eccentric to weird, with a capital WEI.

the eyes are definitely the windows to a person's soul...i firmly believe that.
and if he would stop and pay some attention to the speaker, he might hear that kite whistling love in the sky...
