Through the Skylight

Through the Skylight

A Poem by Chris Shaw

I have loved the stars with fondness,
with passion and delight,
so when I lie here sleepless
I am thankful for their light,
that spangles in the Heavens
and has done all my life.

To those eyes that wink in darkness,
that enter in my room,
that chase away the demons,
the worries and the gloom,
I am thankful for your company
and the shadows you consume.

Through the skylight you are welcome,
at any time of year.
No need to seek an invite
as I'm grateful you appear
and the value that I place on you
is priceless, that is clear.

dearest Chris... Stars are wishes waiting to be granted...
shining in the Heavens where loved ones dream.
And when they fall... we recall the Splendor of it all.
Perfect lullaby when Angels sing and bluebells ring in
melodies of the rising Sun. tenderly, Pat

the magic on this earth and what is beyond is clearly loved and expressed by you in this delicate poem that reads so well. tittle of poetry a big clue to what you talking about and this is great for people that read poetry as they can peace together with the clues in your poem ie wink and light etc etc. thank you for your company was sad as I feel the lowliness in your words. equally spun on head with the good ie chasing away the demons. deep words to describe negative bad places the mind brings us at night. the rhymes were magic and hit the right cord. in all a outstanding poem you have put together and I hope my positive feed back encourages you to keep writing and not to put down the stars I mean pen lol. thanking you.

man oh man! how i enjoyed praying this wonderful poem ..read it out loud knowing your rhyme and rhyming is going to be spot on and lends itself to spoken out loud poetry ... every line drew me deeper in the thankful heart that produced "Through the Skylight" ... every morning as my doggies go about their business ... one at about 2 am and the other at 4 ... then both at around 7 ... i do seek the stars ... when they are veiled by clouds and fog ... i still know right where they are ... at least those i know their positions of ;) great worthwhile read dahlink!
