AvatarA Poem by Chris Shaw
You bring me a kaleidoscope
of coloured swirls, patterned pathways, crescent curls. Shapes which oscillate and turn. Hues that burn in blazing heat. These shades and tones are indiscreet. They are the colours of desire, wanton passion, tongues of fire. Red and yellow combination spell out DANGER, not temptation. Yet dressed there in your top and tails, you offer me in your left hand a single orchid pure and white. You hold a flower which delights. Polite, respectful, somewhat coy, is this a ploy? Is this the man you are? Could you be Satan in disguise or have you fallen from a star?
