If The World Seems Cold To YouA Poem by Chris Shaw
If the world seems cold to you
on days when sun burns diamond bright and streams of dazzling golden light can't raise your shipwrecked spirits high. When sadness strikes and all around you hear the sound of birds in song, yet something's wrong and you can't feel the cheer these little creatures bring. Though you attempt with all your might to climb a mountain you can't see, depression holds such misery, its blackness like an endless pit. In time your struggle and your fear will help ignite a tiny spark, you'll fumble blindly in the dark until a shaft of light breaks through. So kindle fire to warm it well and pierce the spell of all that's black. Take pains to nurture what appears at first a glint, some scope for hope.
