Opposites

Opposites

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

Do you know anyone like this? Spill the beans.

"
For you who swears that black is white,
who says the sun shines in the night,
who deems the stars come out at dawn,
who states the dead have just been born.
Why do you love to play the clown?
If I say up then you'll say down.
If I say boo then you'll say shoo,
so what the hell is wrong with you?

This is golden. These are questions that will perplex the human mind when handling people and truth be told, answers to these questions would not yield any solutions. Newer ways to contradict and counter would emerge. But that's fun- sometimes. Who wants the other to agree, all the time? Except in the boudoir, ofc.
Good flow of thoughts, better flow of rhythm.

Cheers!
M.

Chris - you let your contrariness shine through. I'm sure we all know at least one person who fits each and every example you cite. I think some of these do it just because they really are out to stir things up. I find it hard to believe they are actually that dense. But, then again?

Take care - Dave

Thanks Dave for checking this one out. I appreciate your thoughts.

Chris
Have encountered similar downright exasperating contrariness (some even think I'm a bit contrary, myself.)
But, while I'm no genius, I have managed to retain the ability to tell up from down.
In any event, "Opposites" is a nicely constructed, thoroughly amusing piece of work.

Good you saw the funny side of my lines Jimmy. Thank you.

This is a real gem lol - why is that some people are born to be our total opposites just for annoyance sake! I relate to this all too well (sadly) :)

Hi Chris! Loved this!

I do know someone like that and its fun to tangle with them, exasperate them and hold them to their own words.

Seriously though, it can get to be too much after a time.

Such, witty, lively lines there...

Perhaps that's what and where imagination or a quirky sense of humour comes in? However, won't argue, i need go out and watch those hidden stars twinkle in the Dorset deluge! An interesting poem, Chris, could be taken either side of the fence. :)

Ah yes, argument for the sake of argument, disagreeing because it fuels their ego (perhaps). I think both can be annoying, agreeing too much or every time makes one a human chameleon ;) good to keep a balance, yes.
Loved this write, it's lightly humorous yet poses serious questions on the human psyche.
