If I Were LookingA Poem by Chris ShawMore fun
If I were looking for a guy,
what qualities would spring to mind? Well first and foremost he would need to demonstrate that he was kind. His IQ needn't spiral high, but neither would I want him dense, intelligence is fine to have, but so is good old common sense. I couldn't bear the type of chap without the slightest zest for life, glued firmly to the tv screen, who wants a doormat for a wife. And trust me humour is a must, a wit that's quick not thick and slow, who likes to crack a joke or two, who'll lift your spirits when you're low. Yet he should have a tender side, be unafraid to show his heart. A loving nature, passionate who won't require a kick to start. I've learned that looks don't count a dime, a handsome face will fade with time. This man of course should not object to poems based on metered rhyme. If I were looking but I'm not, content I guess with what I've got. I think I'll stop before I find I've landed in a sticky spot.
