![]() Moonfleet PerspectiveA Poem by Chris Shaw![]() ( mind meandering past midnight )![]()
Looking down on Brixham town
leaves me breathless at the splendour of the mesmerising lights, glinting from the terraced houses winking, blinking in the night. Though I'm sleepless I am thankful as I watch the ebb and flow of the dark and salted waters agitating in the basin of the harbour seen below. Gone the laughing, cheerful faces of the noisy, playful children. Gone the bustle of the day. Empty streets are lonely places, even ghosts have stayed away. Yet the peace brings on contentment in the silence with my thoughts. Time for quiet contemplation, soothing moments for the soul. Puts the balance in perspective, shifts what rigid from control.
