the heat, the humidity feels stifling..just like being suffocated ...i feel that way in small spaces...but also in wide open spaces when the heat is as oppressive as a slave owner...or a dictator under which we live in duress.
your poetry always makes me think on several levels.

This is a feeling I didn't know should or even could be captured so beautifully until now. And with a consistent rhyme scheme, as well, that benefits the piece! Absolutely marvelous and very impressive.

It's raining right now, and I am studying my surgery books in the library. Pretty pitter-patter on the windows as backdrop as i write this review. Yunno there are certain Native American tribes who believe in the power of rain-dances, and that just pretending to enjoy the rain, imagining the rain drops on your skin can attract the clouds. I am pretty sure a good poem like this would achieve the same effect. Lemme know if you were successful... ;)
I'd like to try a dry dance if the rain continues :'(

Nice. When I was in Japan, one city prefecture was 105 farenheight. It was hit especially when we didn’t have electricity, we only had paper fans. And those portable battery electric fans

It is a double edged sword for those of us who live in normally cold climes, at least, but some of this heat is literally unbearable, and here, at least, the rain has provided little relief yet

I can understand the response to the heat. Lately, our rain has been accompanied by some serious lightning so I'm thinking I won't be going out to dance in that. :) I enjoyed the read.

This poem is very wet. Wet, drippity drippity. I remember going to a water park. I cried because a fat man hogged the lazy river, and he fell asleep because he drank Budweiser like my mom. Dang. Grate reed.

Not a very happy one, but a wet one which I guess is fitting, bearing in mind my subject matter.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
