Out Of The Question

Out Of The Question

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(playing with words) Thank you Margie (barleygirl) for your inspiration

"
a small craft is within sight
i hear a young man's voice upstream
his boat approaches
and reveals two black labradors
on deck

he is in deep conversation
with his canine friends
i think of barleygirl
tickling the tummies of her house mates

and know that my longing
for a dog is out of the question
a frog has more chance
of turning into a prince

I wondered where you were going here after the first verse Chris. The bit about Barleygirl and the dogs is a bit enigmatic. I guess her inspiration is poetic not canine but if you have a longing for a dog go for it! Or maybe just get some housemates and tickle their tummies. Seriously I think we do inspire each other (tummie tickling!) in this cyber cafe.
Cheers,
Alan

I love it.
Now, I would beg you to reconsider.
I know a few pups whose eyes would bring you to sorrow.
I am sure Barley would understand if you slept on it,
well at least until tomorrow.

Well, you have four others in your home who are surely a blessing, even if you can't have a blessing of the furry variety! *wink! wink!* I rarely see another human being, so we're about evenly matched when it comes to having a frog's chance, huh? Love your playful way of laying out all the various aspects of this message. I'm honored to have inspired you with the tummy rubbing duties I must perform daily! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
