if this were a painting, a landscape perhaps because of the detail you have incorporated, it would by definition have to be categorized as fine art .. as it sits on what would otherwise be a blank page, one would be required to unreservedly suggest this page is in its own write a work of art & mightily finely so ..

I love the line ‘weeping willow silhouettes’. I enjoyed the entire poem, but that part was amazing for me. Keep up the great poems, I’ll be back for more!

So sorry for the very late response. Thank you. Better late than never.
i am taken there with your imagery....hear the sounds...enjoy the calm...
then i juxtapose your poem and what it is about to my memories of NY City...
the blaring horns of taxis ---the scream of boats on the hudson...
the sirens of police cars....the chaos live streaming---not the most comforting music....not like what you portray...
peace, serenity.

You wouldn't think I had been born in London. Thanks for checking this one out. It isn't the Windsor poem I was remembering. There is another buried somewhere. Chris

I love willows too and as we are on our boat heading for Windsor again, I thought the willow needed an airing. Appreciating your kind reviews.
This shows your amazing powers of observation! I love the beginning where you contrast the weeping willow by day & by night – it really pumps up your point about how spooky the scene can be. I also love the later verses where you show us your favorite spots under a bit of a greenish pall. I love the ways night can be both tantalizing & mysterious – shown with a ton of sensations here (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I did love this poem. My favorite tree is the Weeping Willow. Sort of a Prince of a tree in nature. I liked the description and thoughts shared dear Chris. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I have some weeping willows near. They are wonderful.
A series of wonderfully individual canvasses, gently coloured... calm to the eye and thought, Chris. This is truly beautiful, epitomising an Englishness which has been ignored of late. The ending is a piece of magic..can hear the swish of passing wings, somehow eerie yet beautitul. Perhaps angel wings passing through the dark.. Superb.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
