When The Dog WailsA Poem by Chris Shawwe all have dark days
Even in our bleakest moments
nature brings a glint of bright. By the river, I remember how my darkness captured light. I saw diamonds dance on water as the sun broke through to play, I recall my burden lighten on a dreary soulless day. All that glory there before me for those minutes mesmerised, as the sparkle on the surface grew in strength, intensified. I'm reminded when the dog wails, when those blackest moments come, nothing stays the same forever, dig in deep and don't succumb.
