Shakespeare be damned. We now have a new sonnet mistress to take his place,
Must be a British kind of thing,
Well done, Chris

I lived in Michigan as a child and they used to put barium in the atmosphere to enhance the viewing for science. They are spectacular. I hope you get to see them. I wish you could have shared my experience. You will. Nice write.
"And then pinch-pleated curtains made from silk
that roll effusing hues of purple sheen."--favourite lines from this creative piece. Seeing the northern lights are on my bucket list too(as is visiting a lot of other interesting places), but the arctic has always fascinated me, since it eludes such a beautiful, and mysterious vibe, and has remained untouched from human intervention for a very long time.

I think there are lots of bucket lists which have them on their list. Thank you for your review Moon's Fairest Child. You are very welcome here.
For us in the southern part of England, this is a denied spectacle, Chris. but Scotland isn't TOO far away, so your wish can be more than a dream. Loved your description of the swirling celestial pallette.
I often want to experience beautiful things in my life because I know they can change me, inspire me and help me grow into a better person. Your poem is one of these beautiful things. It's a got a soft beautiful flow and it connects the reader to the event itself, captures him/her and fascinates. Great write.
I truly believe that if you wish for something with all your heart, the wish will most definitely comes true.
And I will be waiting for the spectacular poem you will write after you experience Aurora Borealis. All the best.

Thank you M. Yes if I get to see it, the least I can do is write about it.

And it will be as usual a breathtakingly beautiful poem.
Ah, Dear Chris,
I love the imagery you’ve gifted us through the wondrously vivid, beautiful descriptives of your Sonnet, your hallmark smooth flow of syntax, and such striking word choices, also, touched my poetically imaginative heart … gorgeous poeting from You, as usual.
Though, I have not yet witnessed this miracle of nature in person, I have been privileged to enjoy several documentaries featuring videos of the Aurora Borealis' undulating, glowing beauty.
Thank you for sharing the wonders of this glorious phenomenon through your splendid poetry! ⁓ Richard : )

So we both have in common a desire to see the real Aurora Borealis. Like you, I have only seen this wonder on tv. So it's on my bucket list. Yes, I thought it was about time I uploaded an image for my avatar, so thank you for that gorgeous compliment!
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
