Minor MeA Poem by Chris Shaw(that inner child coming out to play)
Unplanned, I find she seeks me out,
my inner child peeps from the wings. A fraction shy in early days but with a thirst for history. Yet I am thankful that she brings her freckled nose and untamed hair back home before my older eyes. I sigh at all the hours spent curled up and reading books stacked high, or painting with an artist's flair. Though when I see her climbing trees or playing chase through bluebell wood or paddling barefoot in the sea, how full of joy this youngster seems. Content is she, I do see that, of siblings, friends and family cats. How fond I find I am of her, respectful, playful, laughing child who loves to dance unseen and wild. She is the stepping stone that led to who I am, she's minor me.
