Such beautiful images but such a melancholic feeling by the thought of being washed away. The initial lines so poetic.
"A brisk breeze drives the crystalline,
while in the distance sail boats play
and sun spreads golden spangled light."
"By night, a full moon casts her spell,
fine threads of silver settle down
to glisten, silent on the sea."
Sheer beauty Chris.

Ooh Fabulosa Chris I love this Poem. Taking me back to the glorious Golden Summer of 1976, and a young lady named Elizabeth Ravenhill. Those Summer Nights at the Funfair. 150% this one :)

I adore the coast, so the lovely imagery here brought to mind so many wonderful times and people, the last few lines, particularly ‘Or like the tide that fickle turns’ is such an important reminder of the impermanence and beauty of these moments, thank you Chris.

Quite a picture your words have painted, seems peaceful but the end seems melancholy.

I can picture someone seeing the beautiful scenery, appreciating it for what it is, but underneath the layers of thought there's always a little cloud that's lurking in the form of a question. The doubt lingers not unlike the waves that are a permanent part of the ocean.
Theres a lot in this one, Chris. Nice writing.

Fantastic imagery Chris and a heartfelt poem of lost love, hoping that he will remember you as you were. Very soft and passionate words, feelings about the sea, the full moon, the overlook with created waves, and of course, the big question in your mind. Lovely.
Best, B

A poem across the world. I love the Englishness of the first part and the subtle but layered change later. Excellent writing my friend.
