I do so love, admire and relate as not all try can or will appreciate the bedecked, ornate beauty of mother-nature with her soothing almost hypnotic effect when one with an observing eye opens up and permits this wondrous rhythmic relationship to blend, take hold as one drifts into the fluffy white clouds high above ..
' In harmony my heartbeat and my mind,
I drift into a meditative state.
I hear the sounds, sweet nature as she calls,
the world I know is absent, it can wait ''
Inspiring gem of a poem! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

When we have time to stand and stare, we can appreciate tranquillity. It can be scarce, but so rewarding.

Nature the best pause button I know. I find this very peaceful. It's like the busy parts of life are in black and white and moments among nature are in techno-color. I enjoyed it.

I am sure we can all relate to this poem; wandering in nature is the perfect antidote to our hectic daily lives. The beauty stills our frantic heartbeats and clears our jaded minds.
Lovely rhyme and execution as always. Well written.
Thank you Doodley. When my mind is frazzled I look to nature to heal it. Always calms me down.

For me it is the presence of animals that soothes my angst.

We have a cat and recently my grandson's dog stayed with us for 6 months. I was in a state of grief when it was time for her to go. Lucky for me, he brings her back for visits. Formed such an attachment, far more loving than the cat.
No nature no life.
Yet we ravage nature every day.
Cut down the rain forests, watch the effect it has around the rest of the world.
Why would you want to lose such beauty.

The power of poetry, for me, is in capturing moments and experiences (amongst other things I guess but I digress).
I've always had a soft spot for nature poetry, especially the spiritual aspect of being in nature. Your poem kinda reminded me of Wordsworth, without the overweening ego (normally I dislike WW but he deserves respect).
You've captured a transcendent moment of communion with nature that I have to say I envy.
I liked the iambic pentameter and use of rhyme too. It's hard to do without it seeming forced but you've done it effortlessly. Great stuff!

A great review, thank you so much. Very much appreciated.
i stopped by a little lake today on the way to tennis...just looked, felt and thought about life.
we need those moments and you create a scene of a place like that in your poem...one to find peace with nature.

Seems the feelings one could feel, sitting on the top of Great Gable, looking down and around. A time when dreams are alive and grab a being by the spirit.. and nothing on earth matters.. for.. the perfect while.
Tears in my eyes.. your words are.. beautiful... bring back feelings i thought were packed away. You write with the most absolute heartbeat..

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
