When I Became A Writer

When I Became A Writer

A Poem by cassandra violet

When he left,

I sat for some time and

drifted in the verves,

the sensations that swam in

my mind. Sorrow shaded the light,

rage became my life as uncertainty

shadowed my soul- but

right when the sun of reason

begun to set, I poured the

waters of my distress onto

blank, empty pages, upon

the food-stained papers that

littered my floor, as abandoned

and lonely as I was.

The beats of my heart

Became words, the song of myself

was written line after line,

my hand and the pen like

The sun and the moon, rising

Eternally over time.

In his absence,

when he left,

I found a companion in my

Thoughts and I became the

voice of my inner words,

breaking their branches and

smiling at the dryness of

the wood, the match of my pen

lit them on fire, and under the

passion of the flames

I wrote.

I gave my writing to

my father who pursed his

lips and narrowed his brows,

before telling me to

spend my life doing that

of which would bring me

wealth,

paper,

a name;

success.

So, I redefined my understanding

of success, choosing to measure it

by the warmth of my free passion’s fire

as it soothed my flesh and kissed my skin

with the light of rays that broke free from

the cell of shade to become my fire within.

how you tell bout the strength of the creative word..
it comes at times of crises..when tears pours and never stop ,it drives the mind to cry too
to shed his tears ,and they are beautiful words ,they spill non stop..it happened a lot
i always said ,our sad faces hides behind some beautiful stories to tell
lucky we can bring it into being ,our tongue becomes fluent, and we start to sing
our stressed heart will be the joy of other when they read all the bloody beauties
when all see something strange ,they dont know its the heart and mind talking
i really loved this ,writing and creativity is great..few will understand..and its not for fun
lovely write..

This was fantastic! I loved how your testimonial demonstrated how you were molded into who you are today. Great concept and really explains a lot.
