Crying CloudsA Poem by cassandra violetI ride the waves of night, My emotions taking flight on their rise, Sanity crashing with the tide, Drowning in the water as I wallow for breath, Begging for the sands of shore, to feel my feet upon a floor, Then, I see a door in the moon as it bathes the black in flames, Faint like a flickering candle. I see a rope in the vast unknown, A ladder sewn into the sea. Their music makes me dance, My limbs no longer dangle in the drifting of the billows, The air once befogged becomes a drained cloud, The night is covered in a shroud and set to sink in the beds of memory, Its ashes freed into the winds that now dry me. The water is a mirror, showing me my soul, And I smile at how small my reflection seems As just one ripple in this boundless stream. © 2010 cassandra violetReviews
