Everlasting LightA Poem by cassandra violetA love poem, but one with a sad ending. If you were the sun then I’d be the moon, Doomed to seek your rays, Yearning to feel the warmth of day, Craving the colors of your rise and the beauty of your set As you sink into your bed of sleep While I weep in your shadows, your faded shimmer, Shaded by our parting in the dusk, Though I once again impulsively ran after you, driven by my lust. Silence keeping me awake until you wake bringing the lullaby of daylight birds, Them crying words of your sweet shine as you paint the sky with your morning tide, Drowning out the dark, draining the clouds, Climbing to your throne, to light a world known, Revealing nature’s home, shinning hope into hearts, Glimmer like a harbor for lost sails saved by your flames, My lonely glow would merely send them into a maze at sea, My longing for your light would keep me running behind you night after night, Foolishly thinking we could dance as one, Moon and sun singular, one soul soaring in the sky, Riding the waves of time, Aligned so that the world could always shine. © 2010 cassandra violetFeatured Review
