As Trees Go By

As Trees Go By

A Poem by Cassie Potter

With a sky so blue

And clouds, the fluffiest I’ve ever seen,

Past trees of green.

Im left wondering,

Wondering why I feel so free.

Freed from the realities of life,

Wondering if just one week will suffice.

Down the highways, and through the mountaintops,

Through those cities and the smallest towns.

Past the cars of red and blue,

Driving, Driving away from you.

But I’ll be back soon, just one week that’s all,

But if you were to miss me, all you have to do is call.
