No Restraint

No Restraint

A Poem by xX Antithesis Xx

There in broad daylight…it was inevitable.

No eyes turned to see the incident
And it came and went like a tide,
Unnoticed from any other wave in the sea.
And in a sea of faces,
Eyes fluttered, closed, and turned,
As the hand reached out to make use of a habit.
One that has accumulated;
Gathering speed,
Unaware of the damage it left.

The money was only a small piece,
But the cloth…
The cloth which held it
Had more significance;
Catching the eye and tempting the hand.
It beckoned the sinful nature out of the soul.
The hand obeying nature’s intent
Came and took the very thing
Which rightfully was another’s.

Cruelty knows no ends.
And that sinful nature has no bounds
But to take that which it knows
Should not be taken.
Turning one innocent soul
To the outer edges of human compassion
Nature caused this effect with haste
In not but ten minutes time.

I really like this idea of evil being inevitable in nature, and that nature essentially causes evil. So is the action here the stealing of a wallet? If so, it's pretty intense that you were able to create such a beautiful poem over such a simple action. o= If not, my apologies for sucking at interpreting your poem. >___
