Fate

Fate

A Poem by xX Antithesis Xx

Wanting so much
So long…long enough
Not enough time…Time
The idea runs out like sand in the hour glass
Always moving…always turning
Waves churn on white sanded beaches
Scrunched between your toes…painted
The walls closing in…claustrophobia
People pressing, passing, changing
Everyone changes for good or bad
Bad…like the taste in my mouth
To think: What lies beyond the grave?
Inside my head… they scream, breaking lose
And never losing control…balance
Wake up with a lump in your throat
Try to swallow it down, but it stops in your heart
And you drop…picking up speed
Always picks up speed
But once you step off…it’s the end
And there the start of a beginning
Start again, the sound
Pounding in your ears
Blood rushing, filling spaces between
Your eyes fill up
Spill over, the water running down
Stains on the floor
Blood never comes out easily
Neither does wine; still we drink
Sipping the emptiness and holding on
…to nothing

The importance of nothing seems more important than the reality that is held.
In the back of our minds we hold pictures, like a frame.
Each fragment different
And special in its own way
Picturesque…fading
It’s gone, all gone in the end.
What do we live for?
To live and let die what is lost.
You can’t hold on forever, but you can’t just give up.
Let it slide from you face to your heels and run from it,
Yet it’s always waiting at the end of the line.
Never stopping, never ending, and never losing control.
