The Story of My LifeA Story by V.S.L.Parents are unreasonable with the expectations they have for their children. Most parents want their children to lead a life better than theirs, what they do not realize is that we cannot all be doctors and lawyers. Parents want the best for their children but they always expect too much. My parents expected me not to get into drugs or alcohol and have perfect grades for my whole school career. They did not expect me to fall short of their expectations. My parents always expected me to be perfect. They thought I would be the one child they would not have to worry about when it came to drugs, sex, and alcohol. If only they could have seen the future, for they would never have believed that if they had. My sister moved in with us after a lengthy trial between my father and his ex-wife. About a year after that, I became a full-blown addict. I craved the next high off anything I could get my hands on. I turned to smoking because it seemed the easiest thing to get my hands on. After I lost my source, I turned to alcohol, which my parents always seemed to keep a little of in the house. Once that got boring I turned to sex. Being a hardcore sex addict at the age of fifteen sounds like something that you see on reality shows or something, but it is my true life. I never turned to drugs but if I had not gotten help when I did, I probably would have gone there next. My parents, upon
finding out, where very upset, there was a lot of yelling for a while. They never even offered to get me any help. That is how I ended up pregnant. © 2012 V.S.L. |
