Motherhood

Motherhood

A Poem by V.S.L.

Is

Burb rags

Laundry, twice a day

Screaming and crying and headaches

One hundred-sixty outfits that they only wear once

Bath time with sixteen different soaps depending on the time of day

Up all night

Little fingers and toes

Dirty diapers and midnight feedings

Accidently making him bleed cutting his nails

Laughing and giggling and hundreds of thousands of smiles

But most of all,

 It’s the best thing

That has ever and

Will ever happen to me
