Warrior

Not written by me, but recognized myself immediately

I won't ever apologize for being

a warrior.  I haven't chosen this

path.  I have held a sword in my

hands more often than I've held

flowers.  And if my battle scars

frighten you, look for someone, 

whose soul has no thorns

and draws no blood

It certainly presents a well-defined message. Mother was a warrior, as is my wife of thirty-five years. I have a warrior in me, but don't like the guy. Nowadays, I'd rather have a sweet nurturer than a bruiser-girl. That said, I understand the piece and the righteousness of it.
