Beautiful Baby Daughter

Beautiful Baby Daughter

A Poem by caseymichelle31
"

This poem is about how parents shouldn't have such high expectations for their children. Accept them for who they are, no matter what. That is what makes a true parent.

"
She was born to idealists
Her parents they were
Set on a beautiful
Bouncing baby girl

But was she that?
It could not be known
Until she reached her prime
A pig raised for slaughter

They spent their money
They betrayed their God
But was it worth it?
Their beautiful daughter

15 more years
And they would see
That all their greatest fears
Had come to be

Their daughter was GAY

Oh the horror,
The vulgarity, the shock
This must be an error
But she can't quite block

Out the judgement
Day after day
That her loving parents
Are never afraid to say

She's reached her prime
Their beautiful baby daughter

She has become that pig
Always destined
For slaughter

The wording is probably not as good as I'd like it to be but this poem comes from a place deep down. It's a message to new parents. Tell me what you think :)

It particularly is relevant. It is sad but unfortunately a bit of truth...
It made me think and that is good...
There is an indelible contrast in 'pig' and 'beautiful baby'
So many things can change - many take her to the slaughter.
