when I wake

and you are not there

I shiver and shake

and cannot bear

that you are not with me

and it pains me so

your love is not free

when I can’t let it go

like warmth from the sun

against a cold, cold back

when we are one

all time loses track

and when I wake up

and you are still not there

I throw my coffee cup

high in the air

for I have gone mad

into insanity I stare

why must I be so sad

when you

my love

are not there?
