If only

something you love that will never be

If I were the moon and you were the sun

I would question why I always run

If I were surrounded by dark and you by light

I would beg that you could stay for just one night

The craters in me are so deep

each taking a part of me I can no longer keep

I can always see the stars though

But it is still you that I look for your glow

No matter how many galaxies there are around me

My eyes are only open to what my heart can see

The moon will orbit and the sun will rise

I should never hope for another surprise

But still I wish the sun would stay for one night
