sharks

sharks

A Poem by carynolivia

People tell me all the time
'there's plenty more fish in the sea'
but there are sharks and they're circling;
tearing me apart at the seams,
telling me I shouldn't bleed
in an ocean full of killers.

The mating game is sort of pathetic, though at the right time, certain fish seem so amazing!

Again, I think the opening 2 lines could be a series of poems, could lead into many worthy explorations of dating and the pursuit of intimacy in poetic form.
