X1Y1

A Poem by Blackstone Featherfall

i've thought too much about the weather. the skies all looked grey. from inside my new apartment, tomorrow was only yesterday. my lungs, my tongue, my cheeks...i made my enemies. i was a statue. i was a bum on the streets. oh a year was gone and it took me. my english days in a southern state.

i'd fallen for the shade of green. the grass, the grass, the ugly cash. i marked the walls with black and mistakes. the x-less block was only the past. myself, my friends, my family...i made my enemies. i was the rubble of a temple. i was a thief. oh a life was gone and it left me. my gypsy days in a southern state.

but wait, wait, wait...i'm speaking in a certain tense. no need to recollect. i just feel the need to brag. i was frozen like ice cream til she scooped me up and ate me. chocolate's my favorite flavor, hers is mint chocolate. oh this fresh taste is better than my favorite color. freckles on a pale face in a blinding sun. after making love. today is today, my southern day in a southern state. and this is the only matterful stanza.
