TANGENTS

TANGENTS

A Poem by Blackstone Featherfall

this is me
now
a weight less
cigarettes and long flights
laboring, pushing well over dads age
this is me
digging through letters
finding meanings
i spend evenings in bathrooms
record players and raindances
some firefly does the rounds
until it is withered
until it has served it's purpose
this is me
now
there are new familiar faces
wiser and more peaceful
i've spent the month climbing ladder
after ladder
and found a beautiful pattern
with you i'd be in the mud somewhere
"finding myself" on some youthful escapade
this is me
exploring the melodies i make
nodding off for hours
and where are you
now...
floating down some river?
