Your Kiss

Your Kiss

A Poem by A Simple man

We sit here together, so close yet so far.

Your eyes have entranced me, my mind seems ajar.

My hand inches closer, my heart can be heard.

Besides the thump thumping, it utters no word.

The beating increases, my hand found its mark.

Your cheeks are like fire, your hair is so dark.

I've succumb to your will, my lips become wet.

Moving closer and closer, no need for regret.

Your hands on my face, with compassion and love.

Thank God for this moment, and the heavens above.

Now is the time, my eyes slowly close.

This feeling of warmth, shoots from my head to my toes.

Finally my lips, have acheived what was promised.

The reward though is strange, it's rough and dishonest.

I open my eyes, but you are not there.

This dream was so real, my God life's unfair.

This was extremely good. I love the last line! Life can be unfair in these situations and dreams can be especially cruel. Good write and keep up the good work. Peace to you and the world. LeeLee

A very clever twist at the end. I didn't expect that at all and it left me with a delightful smile. Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable. ~Pamela

When I am confronted by complex emotions, I cannot do another thing until I sit down and write about how I feel. Usually these emotions pour from the tips of my fingers with ease and at once calm me .. more..
