This instruction show you guide on how to remove track assembly for Caterpillar 320C excavator.
Procedures:
1. Install Tooling (D) in the track link and on the sprocket, as shown.
2.
Start the machine. Move the sprocket forward until the track assembly
is pulled up on the sprocket. Move the sprocket forward until the end of
the track assembly is past a vertical line through the center of the
sprocket. Remove Tooling (D).
3. Install Tooling (E) between the first bushing in the track link and the track shoe, as shown.
4. Move the sprocket forward. Use Tooling (E) to guide the track assembly over the carrier rollers and the front idler.
5.
Use a suitable lifting device to raise the front of the track assembly.
Install Tooling (A) in position under the track shoe, as shown.
6.
Apply Tooling (F) on two track bushings. Install the bushings in the
track links. The grease will hold the bushings in place.
7. Apply Tooling (F) in the master pin bores in the track assembly and on the master pin.
8.
Connect the ends of the track assembly. Make sure that the pin bore in
each end of the track assembly is aligned with each other.
9. Install Tooling (G) in the track assembly. Make sure that Tooling (G) is centered in the
track links. Use Tooling (G) and a hammer to install master pin (2).
Note: If you can not install master pin (2) with the hammer, use Tooling (C) to install
master pin (2). Refer to Illustration 5.
10. Install the cotter pin in the master pin. Remove Tooling (A) from the rear of the track assembly.
Note: Refer to Special Instruction, "Track - Assembly" for further information regarding
Tooling (C).

If the track shoe on each side of the master pin was removed, reinstall
the track shoes. Use Tooling (B) to reinstall the track shoe mounting
bolts.
12. Tighten the tension of the track. Refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Track Adjustment - Adjust" for the correct
procedure.
