Tremors

Tremors

A Poem by Liz

Tremors rupture beneath my skin---
a mere omen of what's to begin.

Lurking in the crevices
of forbidden thoughts
these remnant shards emerge,
once more shrieking into
existence.

A menacing duo encrypted in
my genes and pre-wired
to my soul-
inexplicably bound
to my presence.

And as they shudder into existence
such thoughts and perceptions intertwine
with Reality and the Truth
distorting and drenching
every single
memory-thought-observation

-glance
into a paralytic collision
of Chaos.

A shroud of Depression
smothers the remaining sparks of light
while Anxiety merely smirks
as it swarms feverishly for another bite.

Stripped raw and exposed
pleading for a comatose state-
abandoning shipwrecked dreams
and a smoldering conscience
ensnared by Fate.

My personal carousel of free will
and damnation
barely teetering on its axis-
tempted by the hollow murmur
that foreshadows
the numbing slumber of obliteration.

Hear the bells toll
the final farewell-
the melancholy caress
condemning me to this
ultimate perversion of hell.

I love the imagery and the despondent flow that we go on.. Im always interested in dark and depressive content and this very much fits the bill... it seems like a wonderful song to get creatively involved with. If I still sang, I would try to be your singer on it.. :D
