ChemicalA Poem by LizYou're like a slow chemical
radiating through my veins An old flame returns burning me insane. You don't belong here anymore. Painting dreams of what I've lost Giving me just but of taste of what you've cost. You don't belong here anymore Twisting fiction into past and truth to lies Falsities are cast and damned without a sigh. You don't belong here anymore. Cursed into decay I wish you wouldn't stay You just can't pass up this opportunity of what you yearn. You don't belong here anymore. All the wonder I would have found has been dissolved into the ground Solely scattered ash within a stash of broken promises. You don't belong here anymore. No color left to behold Lost without my soul you sold Chained below the plesantries of life. How you've caused such unforgivable strife. You don't belong here anymore. Yet I'm still wrapped inside this phantom nightmare praying not to collide into your smirking stare. You don't belong here anymore. Locked within your transgression I begin to dream that the memories you wrote were never heard or seen. You don't belong here anymore. Erasing winter sky such subtleties cease to multiply Conviction flutters from voice realizing my final choice. You don't belong here anymore. © 2009 Liz |
