SpokenA Poem by LizI told you
from the start this could never be Yet you refused to listen, embracing tragedy. Words cluster and syllables tangle, awaiting to be spoken. Innocent lines prelude to imagined times nestled in your arms. But subtle alarms alleviated no harm as you relentlessly pursued. Stumbling recklessly into the chasm of the Heartbroken and Subdued. The truth was sung long before entry into the point of no return. Even bursting lungs could not cause your sentry of guidance to yield at what you yearn. My letters tasted bittersweet upon your thirsty lips-- Disappointment must be drunk slowly in sips. Foolishly, you gaped, draining vowel after vowel. Internally, you shaped a nightmare meant for me. Pouting and Plotting Retching and Rotting Your heart began to spew. Raw revenge-- the call to avenge ripe and overdue. And so you raped with silence and numbing crafted words spouting off a page written to be heard. But boy, your words are twigs against my limber branches And my limbs know the way to these avenging dances. Release your wooden spear and surrender while you're here. 'Cause I will always have the upper hand to the boy of Never Land. © 2009 LizReviews
